Ethiopian coffee


Ethiopian coffee is very strong but delicious. Here are some ladies from Ethiopia making their version of coffee. They start with fresh, whole, unroasted beans. Yes, you can actually buy unroasted beans here in the supermarket. They roast them on the gas canister, grind them, place it into a cast iron pitcher with some hot water and let it steep, then they pour it from pitcher to pitcher until it's the consistency they like. They serve it in espresso sized cups with cream or sugar, but most people drink it plain. It will keep you up all night, but it's worth it.
