Mount St. Michel

Here are pictures of Mount St. Michel. There are four museums here, the streets are very tiny and there are tons of little shops and eateries along the road. This used to be a tiny village. You can tour knight's houses amongst other things. Lambs surround the fields here and since it's by salty ocean water, it gives the Norman lamb meat a specific flavor.

Normandy

Here is where the Titanic left from. We ate at a great restaurant here inside the museum and there is also a picture of a submarine here, although I don't know the significance of it, the explanation was in French haha.

Normandy cooking class

We took a cooking class while in Normandy in a town called Cherborg. On the menu: chevre croutons (what we call crostini), quail braised in calvados and a strawberry tart. It's in this woman's house, who has the most amazing kitchen. We cooked on a wood burning stove/oven and we stayed on the property in a barn that she remodeled.

France - cottage

Here is the cottage where we stayed in Normandy. Even though it was June, it was still a little chilly, but a nice break from the desert heat. Normandy is beautiful: stone cottages, lots of green fields with cows and lambs. Of course Normandy is known for their milk, cheese and apples, and I believe I had my fill of each!
